Care Without the Commute

Getting to an appointment can take as much time as the appointment itself. Traffic, parking, transit schedules, and time off work all add up, and they can make it harder to keep care consistent over time.

Telehealth removes that barrier. You can meet from home or another private space, as long as you are physically in Michigan at the time of the visit. Evaluations and follow-up visits can both happen by telehealth, and Tuesday and Wednesday sessions run until 6 pm.

Because there is no travel, telehealth can also make it easier to schedule visits during a lunch break or between other commitments. Choose a private space where you can speak freely, and please never join a visit while driving. If privacy at home is hard to find, a parked car or a private room at work can also work.

LGBTQ+ Affirming Psychiatric Care

Everyone deserves care where they can be fully themselves. Fall Bloom Mental Health provides affirming psychiatric care that supports identity exploration, emotional health, and life transitions. Your name, pronouns, relationships, and experiences are respected.

LGBTQ+ people may carry added stress from discrimination, family conflict, or the effort of navigating spaces that do not feel safe. That stress can affect mood, anxiety, and sleep, and it deserves to be acknowledged in care. The LGBTQ+ affirming care page explains more, including support related to gender dysphoria.

Affirming care means you do not have to explain or defend who you are before getting help with what brought you in. You can share as much or as little about your identity as feels right, and your goals guide the plan.

A Whole-Person Approach

Anxiety, depression, and ADHD often overlap, and each can be shaped by sleep, stress, physical health, and daily routines. Care looks at the full picture rather than a single symptom.

A 60-minute psychiatric evaluation covers your current symptoms, history, sleep, physical health, stress, past treatment, and goals. Through Functional & Integrative Psychiatry, care also considers nutrition, lifestyle, and laboratory findings when appropriate.

Bringing a list of your current medications and any recent lab results from your primary care provider helps the evaluation go smoothly. With your permission, Claudia can coordinate with your other providers.

Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD

Worry that will not quiet down, a heaviness that makes each day harder, or trouble focusing and following through can all interfere with work, relationships, and rest. The depression and mood disorders page, along with pages on anxiety and ADHD, describes how care approaches each.

Medication is one possible tool, never a requirement. Every decision is made together based on your symptoms, goals, and comfort level. When therapy would help, Claudia provides referrals to trusted therapists and specialists, including those experienced in affirming care.

Sometimes one concern is driving another, such as poor sleep deepening low mood or untreated attention difficulties feeding anxiety. Sorting out those connections is part of building a plan that fits.

Ongoing Support

If your plan includes medication management, follow-up visits are typically 15-20 minutes and review what is helping, any side effects, and how sleep, stress, and daily life are going. Plans are revisited as your needs change. Please talk with your prescriber before changing or stopping any medication.

If something changes between visits, you can contact the office rather than waiting.
